What is our community transport service?
Cutteslowe Wolvercote Wytham Community Transport is a not-for-profit travel club based in Oxfordshire. The service is managed by
CWW Co-operative Trust, which also manages other projects for the benefit of the community.
The transport service started with one second-hand 16-seater vehicle in 2010. This is shown in the photograph parked in Cutteslowe and Sunnymead Park at an event organised by Oxford City Council. In 2015, we were notified that we had been granted a new 16-seater vehicle by the Department for Transport Minibus Fund. This will be equipped with wheelchair access and better facilities and join our existing vehicle.
What is the travel club?
Simply a number of organisations who pay an annual subscription for the privilege of being able to book our vehicle. Our member organisations include those providing services to seniors, juniors, families without their own transport and people of all ages with disabilities.
What areas do we cover?
The service has expanded from the original neighbourhoods of Cutteslowe and Wolvercote (both at the northern end of the City of Oxford) and Wytham (a neighbouring parish in the Vale of White Horse District) to other neighbourhoods across Oxford and surrounding parishes. To enable us to expand our services, we have created the concept of community transport neighborhoods. We are now working with other organisations to bring these neighbourhoods together and create a new network under the name Community Transport Oxford.
The first established community transport neighbourhoods are:
